The Dewey Beach Lions Club
The Dewey Beach Lions Club was founded March 16, 1951. The Club was sponsored by the Rehoboth Beach Lions Club. We are proud members the World’s Largest Service Club Organization. We are one of 46,000 clubs with over 1.34 million members. We’re also one of the most effective service club organizations in the world. Our members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends.
Lions have a dynamic history. Founded in 1917, we are best known for fighting blindness – it’s part of our history as well as our work today. But we also perform volunteer work for many different kinds of community projects – including caring for the environment, feeding the hungry and aiding seniors and the disabled. Whenever a Lions club gets together, problems get smaller and communities get better. That’s because we help where help is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy.
